Colorado Master Gardener Program in Gunnison County

Colorado Master Gardener Program in Gunnison County

What is the Gunnison County Master Gardener Program?

Learning: Learn from leading horticulture and gardening experts at Colorado State University in an intensive 10-week web-based training program focused on the challenges and opportunities of gardening at high altitudes.

Sharing: Following the 10 week training program, Master Gardeners volunteer 50 hours of their time to promote research-based gardening practices in the Gunnison County community.

Making a Difference: Master Gardeners are experts that Gunnison County residents look to for research-based answers to their gardening questions. Helping people make ecologically, financially and aesthetically-sound gardening decisions is a fun way to share your knowledge and make a positive contribution to our community.

The Details: For applicants who agree to commit to 50 hours of volunteer service, participation costs $170, which covers the cost of training materials. Some participants choose to waive the 50 hour volunteer commitment and to participate only in the 10 week training portion of the program. This option is available for a cost of $530.

Master Gardener Training Program classes will be held from 9AM-4PM each Thursday between January 26 and April 6, 2017. Training sessions will be held at the Fred Field Western Heritage Center (275 S. Spruce St. in Gunnison).
